Professor Giancarlo Succi

A Full Professor at the University of Bologna and Interim Dean of the School of Computer Science & Engineering at Constructor University, Prof. Succi is an internationally recognized leader in software engineering with an academic career spanning Europe and North America.

He has authored more than 300 scientific papers, written and edited multiple books, and led research projects worth over €17 million. His work has shaped the fields of empirical software engineering, agile methods, open source, software metrics, AI-driven development, and cognitive models of programming, building strong bridges between academia, industry, and public institutions.

Over the years, he has been a Fulbright Scholar, a registered Professional Engineer in both Italy and Canada, and has held key positions at universities such as the Free University of Bozen–Bolzano, University of Alberta, University of Calgary, and University of Trento. His global network and ability to turn research into real-world impact make him an invaluable collaborator.
