TOPAS Autonomous Systems Meetup

On March 16, Constructor Knowledge Labs (CKL) will participate in the TOPAS Autonomous Systems Meetup at Constructor University in Bremen.

The event is hosted by TOPAS Industriemathematik Innovation gGmbH and co-hosted by Constructor University.

We’re expecting industry partners from across Bremen, along with engineers, researchers, students, and people simply curious about robotics. People who build things, test things, and ask uncomfortable technical questions. The point is to bring the Bremen tech community and the university into the same room and open the door to new collaborations.

From CKL, Ilya Shimchik, Team Principal at the Constructor Racing Team, will present their work in the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL).

Ilya will walk through how the team designs and operates its autonomous race car, how perception, decision-making, software architecture, and real-time control have to work together when milliseconds matter. On the track, theory meets reality very quickly. Systems either hold up under pressure or they don’t. Racing leaves no room for unstable pipelines or “almost working” solutions. It’s a demanding environment for testing autonomy, and many of the insights gained there translate directly into broader autonomous driving challenges.

Other speakers during the evening include Matthias Rick and the Bremergy Formula Student Team, who will share their own projects and perspectives.
